Great ending to great series. 4.5 stars!This is the last book in the series and while others didn't believe so I felt that it was a great ending. No it's not the ending that I would have chosen but not everything is always black and white. There are always things that must be factored in and I feel that Kira made the decision that worked best for her due to the fact that she is a super Cunduit. I will say that the way that it was written was perfect though which was the main reason that I thought it was great.
As you know from book 3 Kira, Luke and Tristan battled Aldrich and lost. Aldrich got away because Kira had to stop to fight the evil that was trying to escape from inside her. In the process of trying to kill Aldrich, she burnt Tristan until he you could no longer recognize who he was but with her healing powers she was not only able to save him but also gave him back his soul and he is no longer a vampire. The only problem is that he's also lost all of his memories from when he was a vampire which included her.
As I had hoped Pavia is back in this book and yes she is an alley and not an enemy! Yay! I really liked her in book three and was really pleased with the way that she was written in this book as well. She plays a major part in helping Kira, Luke and Tristan.
In this final book of the series Kira has to try and figure out numerous things that are going on around her. First she has the new Tristan who has basically lost a 150 years of his life. He's now a normal 17 year old that has absolutely no one, knows nothing about the modern world and she feels that she needs to protect him. Then there is the council who have, for the first time since the two sides split apart, come together to meet and decide her fate. One side believes that she will protect them as she has in the past but the other feels that she will be catalyst that kills them all. She also has Aldrich, whom she knows that she let get away in order to save herself from the evil that he put inside of her when he gave her his blood. He's out there somewhere and everyone knows that he's coming to get her to either kill her or to finish what he started. Last and most importantly, she has the evil that she can feel growing in her. A dark side that she's finding harder and harder to keep at bay. It's now up to her and Luke to find the answers that are needed to determine if there is a way to fix everything before it's too late.

I laughed and boy did I cry. This was an awesome conclusion to a great series, and it proves love conquers all. It proves that a soul cannot always be judged on the outside of a person, it is truly the inside that counts. Everyone deserves the chance to let their past go and to move forward in their, especially against all odds. This was truly an excellent series, and I am glad I read it. I was not disappointed.
This book for me, closed with a flourish. In my opinion, this series started kind of slow, but ended up being a whirlwind of emotions.
Very good execution, well written and the author finally led us to feel identified with the characters. In the third book "Blaze" Kira had a change of heart. I liked Whom she chosed and I completely Understood her reasons.
I presume that, if it had been aimed for a more adult audience, perhaps some of the scenes and the story would have taken another path, more rated R. However, because I understand this story was meant to be as a PG13, I believe fulfilled its purpose.

I very much enjoyed the Midnight Fire Series, especially the outcome of Book 4- Scorch! Kaitlyn Davis is an incredible writer with a wonderful imagination. This book tied everything together so well & kept the thrill and excitement of the story moving along to a perfect ending. I read a lot of negative comments about this book but I feel those readers didn't quite understand what the author was trying to convey. Read this last book of the series, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with this outcome.
Kaitlyn Davis has done it yet again! I started reading the scorch series because the first book was free. I kept reading because her stories are hard to put down. I read this one in two hours. I loved parts of it and was really angry in other parts. What sets this book above most of the ones out there today is the GOOD GUY isn't a passive charcter. I love how Kira is confused like a normal person would be. The ending is one I truly admire! If you have any doubts weather you should spend the low cost to buy these books I am here to tell you THESE BOOKS ARE AMAZing!! I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future!!
This will be on my favorites list for a long time to come!!
You must read the first three books before picking this one up or you will never understand Kira's decision. I know that some will want Kira and Tristan to end up together. When she gives him his human life back completely, I balled my heart out! That kind of selfless love makes me appreciate Kira so much more. You really can love two people, but in very different ways. She understands that Luke and she are two parts of one greater whole, that he is good for her and she for him. Letting go of something that makes you feel so good for something that is good for you shows depth of character. She also gives Tristan a clean slate, which is the best gift she could ever grant him, especially considering she keeps her memories of their time together and will always have that empty space to haunt her heart. It was such a gift of love. Great ending!!!
I love this series but hate how this was done. I am not a Luke fan. I just dont like him. I am not upset though that she chose what upsets me is how Tristen was everytbing to her and then he became an afterthought. He deserved more than how this book treated him. He was my favorote character and after reading this i no longer care for Kira. All in all I am not upset that i read this series. It is a good series even if the main character Kira is a little self centered.
